I used a brand new out of the box Bauer 18 volt Hammer Drill that was fully charged with a 1/8 inch TapCon masonry drill bit to put a hole in a standard house brick to set an electrical box. The hammering (yes the hammer was working) drill made little progress, then smoke came out of the tool and it completely failed. I completed the hole with a craftsman 19.2 volt Impact Driver using an older drill bit. The Craftsman had no problem making the hole. The Bauer was a massive failure and major disappointment. It's hitting power is too low. HF refunded my money; no problem. I did purchase a Hercules Impact Driver (on sale) and I'm looking for a deal on a Herc. Hammer Drill. I hope they are not made the same way as the Bauer, for twice the price. Sum Sum, Bauer Hammer Drill's are not recommended by me.
