So I fired my gardener for incompetence which means I'm in charge of taking care of the yard work. I'm using a cheap Black & Decker 40V mower I got literally free by trading in an old (non-working) gas mower. I'm also using a Makita XRU02Z string trimmer which kind of sucks honestly (don't know what I expected for a teal tool for $99).
I am pretty heavily invested in LXT, 6 batteries, 2 impact, 1 hammer drill, recip, circ saw plus the string trimmer, but I'm really not impressed with my choices for blowers, with a dual-battery blower for $199 or a $99 single battery blower that looks like it couldn't blow over a pile of leaves, both of those are tool only of course.
So I was looking at the HF stuff the bear talks about, there's the Bauer 18V and the Lynx 40V for $120 with coupon or the Bauer for ~$110 for the tool + a 3AH battery + a charger. Now obviously the Bauer tool ecosystem is much larger but I don't know how likely I am to stray from Makita in the future. The Bauer 3Ah has 54Wh of capacity where the battery that comes with the Lynx will hold 90Wh so it should last quite a bit longer in theory.
Edit: I guess a third option is to get a B&D 40V blower, I already have a charger and 2 batteries for the mower and generally only use one battery to mow my small lawn. Tool only for a blower that looks OK and has decent reviews is only $54.
