I have been eyeing this saw for a while and like the reviews I have seen. I have the chicago electric but cant get it to cut accurate to save my life.
I have the Kobalt sliding miter saw it’s a great saw , came out of the box square and ready to use. I have used it for 6 months with many types of wood. So far so good no complaints. I have built a miter station for it.
What’s the price on it? You can try the Hercules miter saw. It’s a decent price and they are offering a one year money back guarantee on it in case you hate it in a couple months. Personally I wouldn’t spend high dollar on any more kobalt stuff. Craftsman is taking over that store and I hate Lowe’s anyways. That’s JUST me. Lol. I have the old faithful dewalt miter saw. For yearsssss not sliding but I’m ok with its capacity. If you can afford the DW then by all means. I got mine on a Black Friday years ago around 259 I think.
Its $199 and so far I really cant find any bad reviews on it. I love the hercules but its a whole lot of saw that I would not actually need for $100 more. If it were the only tool I needed or should i say wanted lol to add to my shop I would get the Herc but I still want a drill press and band saw.
@op25ttfd that’s not a bad price man. It’s good that you base your purchases on reviews. I always read the 4 star reviews and the 1 star to get an idea of the good and bad. Go for it man you can always return it later. The benchtop $55 harbor freight drill press is pretty good for the price I mean it struggles a bit with thicker steel but i mostly use it for woodworking and light metal. It’s pretty good for the money. Also I have the benchtop bandsaw from harbor and i love it honestly. I was comparing alllll the brands “benchtop” bandsaws all around $120-$150. HF came out with the best consistent reviews and with a 20 percent off I was out the door at like $112. I put in on a rolling stand and honestly I like it a lot. im not doing precision work so if you are maybe consider something in the $300 range. I’m on a super budget and have minimal space so im happy with my choice. And the blade is ok. I bought some Olson blades from amazon for prett cheap they work good. Just my opinions. let us know what you pick up!!
@DIYDaddy-o I will definitely let you know. The HF band saw and the Wen 9"are the 2 I am considering. Walmart actually sells Wen and I have around $30 on my savings catcher rewards and since those are going to stop in May I plan to use it. I even considered the Wen 10" drill press cause everyone who has it seems to love it. I am like you with limited space and funds especially for tools.
