Hi y’all, new to the forum here, but I’ve been watching the bear for awhile and being a regular HF customer I’ve found it a great place to stay up to date on all the latest and greatest.
I have been needing a good set cordless tools at my workplace but didn’t want to spend big money as they will be my beater tools. So, I decided to go with Bauer, starting with the drill/driver and impact and then hopefully adding the right angle drill, 3/8” impact and angle grinder later. However, when I went to purchase the first two I noticed that the impact driver had been redesigned and by the images on the box it showed as if the drills would get the same update, so I decided to hold off on the drill until my store gets the new model in. Instead, I got the right angle drill, which was actually the first tool released with this new styling. The angle grinder apparently will also be updated, according to the new poster showing the comprehensive lineup. So I will wait on that one too. They do look better in my view. Interestingly, the Bauer battery included with my impact has also received a new shell, now with a bit of rubber over molding on the base. Then, I got my April catalog yesterday and noticed that the Hercules also have been redesigned, including the 12v lineup! I find it interesting that the Hercs show this update in the catalog and online, but the Bauer does not, even though they are already in stores. What I really would like to see is a comparison between the first and second gen. internals to see whether the change is more than skin deep. Would make an interesting video I thinHk 🤔. Has anyone checked it out yet?
