While the words "urgent blowout" don't typically inspire happy thoughts in my mind, in the thus-titled June catalog I was excited to see the Hercules 20v reciprocating saw on page 10. It's there with its equally not-in-stores sibling, the 20v circular saw. It looks pretty much like we knew it would for the last few years, which raises the question "what took them so long?" The bare tool is $99.99, well below the street price of the comparable Dewalt saw. However, with the current Dewalt promotion that bundles the saw with a battery and charger for $129.99, that advantage might be less significant.
I'm interested in seeing this one in action. The touted vibration control sounds like a good idea, but I'd like to see if it's actually effective. We know Red has both of these Herc saws despite them not even being on the HF website yet, so it's probably only a matter of time.
