For those who are in the know. MATCO does not manufacture tools. They only manufacture Tool Boxes. What they do is contract outside manufacturing vendors to manufacture their tools for them and stamp their name on it. As it turns out the exact same APEX Manufacturing vendor who manufactures a lot of MATCO tools is also the exact same vendor who manufactures Carlyle Tools for NAPA. Only that when these same tools are sold at NAPA with the "Carlyle" name on them, they tend to cost 40%-60% cheaper than what MATCO dealers sell the same tools for on their tool truck with the "MATCO" name on it. ((**NOTE** Not all MATCO tools and Carlyle tools are exactly the same, but many of them are the same )). Above is a side by side photo of the same pliers sets sold by both MATCO and Carlyle is a perfect example. (now before you point out that the slip joint pliers and needle nose pliers look different, please notice they are not different, it's just that the Carlyle set shows them face down in the package and that the MATCO set shows them face up in the package, but they are the same ...even the packaging is identical. Carlyle Ratchet and Socket sets are identical to the MATCO "Silver Eagle" Ratchet and Sockets sets. Same screw driver just have different handles and so ...and so on.
