    Is GearWrench becoming too expensive?

Is GearWrench becoming too expensive? Are they going from being a Tool Truck alternative to becoming a Tool Truck brand themselves. In the last 24 months GearWrench has changed their logo, changed their company colors. But have they also changed their business model? Just less than a year ago GearWrench parted ways with Advanced Auto as a retailer. They also severed ties with Sears (although if you still have a Sears, your local Sears may still have GearWrench in stock as per Sears still has a lot of old GearWrench inventory). This is happening simultaneously with GearWrench increasing their number of Tool Truck distributors. But the biggest jaw dropper is the much higher prices of their new tools. The new 2020 Locking Flexhead comfort grip ratchets have almost caught up with Mac Tools in price.

I haven't checked prices on GW recently. I bought my last set about 5 years ago at sears for about $60. Not that GW is of poor quality, but there are a lot of alternatives now with similar quality at affordable prices. Tech's are more savvy now too and know that tool trucks aren't the only game in town. If GW wants to up their game, they need innovation as their biggest selling point has been copied by every other tool manufacturer.
