I've been doing electrical work since 1992 (27 years), I can honestly say that in all of those years that I have NEVER EVER had to bolt or unbolt any fasteners from inside a "hot" switch gear or transformer. In fact, there are very strict OSHA "Lock Out/Tag Out" procedures in place to ensure that panels, switch gear and transformers are shut off and locked down before we ever work on them. Now, Having said that, I am not sure exactly when anyone would really need a set of 1000v insulated Ratchet and Socket set or a 1000v insulated Ratcheting Wrench. ....Knipex also makes a 1000V Insulated Ratchet and Socket set too. Surprising is that the Snap On and Knipex are very near the same price with the Snap On being just slightly more expensive. That kind of surprised me because I totally expected Snap On to be twice as expensive as the Knipex set. (both sets sell for just under $600) .....what is unique however is the Snap On 1000v insulated ratcheting wrench, I've never seen that before by any other brand. ...And I really can't imagine any scenario where you would ever need a 1000v insulated ratcheting wrench ( I really can't) .. . . . . But it's cool that it exists.
