Well the short story behind the car is that it was bought by my friends mom in the early 90s. She always wanted one and was excited to get it. It was basically a bare shell with allot of damage that she didn't realize.
She passed away last year on Thanksgiving night. So this time last year I was spending lots of time at the hospital. She had a stent put in a few weeks before having a stroke and ending up in the hospital. She was Mom #2 to me and her husband had passed away about 6 years ago.
Well I told my friend I would like the mustang for a project and to get it back on the road again and looking good. We worked it all out and on christmas eve we pulled it out of the barn and got it to my garage.
And yes those are doughnuts in those white bags. Gotta keep your priorities straight...
And here it is temporarily in the garage. I just wanted it here and then I could make room in the shop for it. I had to make a couple trips with the trailer to pick up the seats and other stuff ... The car was full of a bunch of junk. Alternators for several vehicles and other oddities.
A picture from the other day test fitting pieces. Still need a radiator support and other pieces to get the front structure back together. I had to replace all the structure from the firewall forward due to damage. If it wasn't for that I would be much further along but sheet metal parts suck up allot of the budget.
On the roof is a new fiberglass shelby style hood and on the trunk is a pass side quarter. Got a really good deal on both of them.
Lots more pics are here. https://ibb.co/album/kAffFa
Also lots of Harbor Freight tools in use. Many are ones I have had for decades some are recent additions or replacements for lots or worn out tools.
