I made the mistake of trying to use an air valve with gauge to set the pressure on my portable air tank I'd picked up recently to use with my brad nailer. The nailer just sucked the line pressure down to nothing in one or two shots then I had to crack the valve open further so no go on that - I think those valves are for the tool end but I want to control it at the tank.
Happened to be near Lowe's and bought a small Kobalt air regulator instead. I installed it on the tank and it worked perfectly. Pressure was dead on where I'd set it and the nailer didn't miss a beat. Used it all afternoon.
When I was at HF on Friday I noticed a couple small air regulators they have, one of which I'm convinced must have come from the same factory as the Kobalt one - for about a third the price. Anyone have any specific experience with either the Kobalt or HF regulators as far as longevity? I've not used any regulators from either before so I'm just wondering if I paid $20 extra for that fancy Kobalt blue paint color..
